Recap: Bike Safe Day with BLD & Castle Combe Posted /Leave a comment

We had an exciting day this past weekend at the Bike Safe Day at Castle Combe. Several hundred bikers along with approximately 40 police riders took part in the busy day which included:

  • police taking out 2 riders a time for a one-hour assessed ride (267 riders were assessed!)
  • feedback following rides offering advice to increase skills
  • track orientation briefing
  • time spent out on the Castle Combe track

Tommy Bridewell, on a police BMW 1000RR and Pete Hickman, on a CB1000 did some demonstration laps on the track showing how the professionals do it and it was fun to see a police bike on the back wheel doing over a ton! Plus a stunt rider in the car park thrilled spectators with wheelies, stoppies and doing ramps on a trials bike.

£29.65 for the entire lifetime of bike.

Of special interest to the bikers we talked to were the Lifetime MOTs we offer. Everyone we talked to about it exclaimed what an innovative and great idea it was to have a one-off payment for the life of their bike. Not only does it provide huge savings but also a great incentive if someone decided to sell their bike (Lifetime MOT transfers from owner to owner).

Special congratulations to D. Clarke of Bristol who is the winner of BLD’s draw for a free track day on our track prepared at Castle Combe!
