BLD GROUP WINS BACK KEY ACM MOTORCYCLE ACCOUNT
BLD Group, the specialist motorcycle claims management company, is pleased to announce that it has won back the ACM ULR motorcycle account after a gap of nearly two years. ACM ULR is the claims management arm of the highly successful BGL Group, which also includes the UK’s number one broker for motorcycle insurance, Bennetts, as well as Dial Direct. The Group also provides some claims services for the Swinton and Hero brands. BLD will be providing its services to all of these well known brands.
The new three year contract commenced on 3 November and BLD will be the lead provider of credit hire facilities to ACM ULR.
Jason Richards, Chief Executive commented,
“Since the new management team arrived at BLD last year we have been broadening and improving our proposition for motorcycle insurance brokers principally by focusing on the customer journey. As a result we have recently renewed several of our larger credit hire and repair contracts and with this win BLD will be working with all of the top five motorcycle insurance brokers.
As the largest motorcycle account in the UK the ACM contract is very significant to BLD. As an indication of its impact, whilst we were already the largest motorcycle credit hire company in the UK, with the largest fleet of bikes, we have now invested in 300 new bikes bringing the fleet to over 800 with an average age of under 14 months. In addition, we have added new vehicles to our fleet to improve our nationwide logistics and to ensure the continued high quality of service to all of our partners’ policyholders.
This latest addition to our list of insurance broker partners is a further endorsement of the management’s commitment to specialising solely in the motorcycle market and BLD’s emphasis on customer service excellence.”
Bob Perry, Managing Director of ACM ULR commenting on the return to BLD added,
“The quality of the BLD offer has improved significantly since we previously worked with the business. Working with the new management team we are now very confident that the combined expertise of ACM ULR and BLD will deliver exceptional customer service to our motorcycle policyholders and to our key partners’ policyholders.”

Background to BLD Group
BLD group was established in 2000. The company specialises in motorcycle claims and accident management services and has the largest fleet of bikes in the UK. In 2007 BLD broadened its services by investing in two state of the art motorcycle repair centres providing full UK nationwide coverage. BLD provides its services primarily to motorcycle insurance brokers and also to insurers, ULR/LEI providers, solicitors, dealers, CHOs and individuals. BLD also provides claims reception facilities, salvage services, replacement bikes and bike transportation services through its UK infrastructure. BLD is the only company in these sectors to focus solely on the motorcycle market and is therefore the only true specialist in this sector.
ACM ULR
ACM ULR is an exceptional claims reporting facility. It supports clients holding motor or household policies with one of the BGL Group’s brands or affinity partners. Using the claim line telephone number on their Certificate of Insurance, customers are connected to the ACM Front Office, which ensures that they are well looked after and passed efficiently to their insurer to continue with their claim.
ACM ULR provides an Uninsured Loss Recovery service to motor insurance clients with Motor Legal Protection (MLP). If a client is not at fault in an accident and the third party has been identified, not only will ACM recover the losses, but also arrange for injury compensation and hire of an alternative vehicle at no cost to the client.
ACM ULR also supplies First Notification of Loss, Accident Management and Uninsured Loss Recovery services to a number of external business partners. This is a growth business for ACM as many companies look to outsource claims management activities. ACM ULR is well positioned to offer a complete and flexible solution to its clients, who are typically insurers, brokers and fleet managers.
The BGL Group was established in 1992 and has grown to be one of the UK’s largest personal lines intermediaries, through a combination of organic growth and a series of major strategic acquisitions.
The BGL Group has 2 million customers, major contact centre operations (Fusion) in Peterborough, Coventry, Sunderland, Peterlee and Cape Town, South Africa and employs 2,255 people.
