While going about his day-to-day business Mr Thompson was hit in the rear by another motorcycle on the 5th April 2009. The accident left his bike un-roadworthy and Mr Thompson in a rather unpleasant situation. Luckily his insurance company called us the next day to notify us of the accident, so we called him straight away to see what we could do to help. We collected Mr Thompson's bike from his work address on the 7th April and a hire bike was delivered at the same time. On the 29th April we were pleased to confirm that liability had been settled in his favour, although his bike had been written off. A total loss cheque was issued on the 8th May once the engineer had confirmed the bike's value. The claim had been settled from start to finish in just 31 days.
Here is what Mr Thompson says about BLD:
"After being knocked from my bike by the friend with whom I was riding, I contacted my insurance broker to inform them of the accident. They told me that BLD would be in touch within 24 hours and would handle my claim. I had never heard of BLD and wasn't aware that their assistance was part of my cover. BLD contacted me less than 24 hours later as promised and basically took everything off my hands. A hire bike was delivered to my work address at the same time that my damaged machine was collected. The whole process, including the engineers report and contact with the 3rd party insurance, was handled by BLD. The icing on the cake was when they agreed to collect their hire bike from the dealership where I was collecting my new bike. I handed the hire bike over, signed the paperwork for my new machine and rode away a happy man. Due to the efficient and courteous service from BLD, I had no hassle at all and wasn't even off the road for 1 day - very important as my bike is my only form of transport. I can thoroughly recommend the services of BLD to anyone who is unfortunate enough to have an accident."
While Mr Harwin was riding his bike, a car failed to give way when turning right in front of him. Mr Harwin's bike was left un-roadworthy and he was left feeling bruised and sore. Most of his riding kit was damaged in the collision too. We received a call a couple of days later from his insurer and we delivered him a hire bike to keep him on the road during his bike's repair. It took 33 days from the date of the accident to get Mr Harwin back on his own bike, fully repaired.

"After my unfortunate accident I was surprised to find I was eligible for a replacement hire bike. I was even more surprised at the speed and efficiency shown by BLD. They use clean modern bikes, and although a like for like replacement was not available from the start of my hire period, when one became available it was delivered the next day and was spot on. They even supplied a helmet for me to use as mine was damaged in the accident. I admit to not being an ideal customer as bikes are my passion and I'm not easily pleased, but BLD did everything possible to keep me happy, and succeeded. I'd go as far as saying that throughout the whole claims process so far, BLD have been the only party to provide a useful, helpful service. Although I hope not to have to deal with them again, should the worst happen I will have no hesitation to instruct BLD to deal with my claim from start to finish. 1st class. Thank you."
When Mr Elgar was faced with a car performing a U-turn from a parked position across his path, he suffered injuries to his wrist and groin and his motorcycle was written off. We sent him a hire motorcycle as soon as he needed one and ensured that liability was settled in his favour. It took 48 days to settle the claim from start to finish.
