Understanding your Claim

From First Notification of Loss (FNOL) to Claims Settlement, BLD offers end-to-end claims management and support. Staffed by motorcycle experts and experienced claims professionals, our team is highly trained and knowledgeable to support customers and referrers in this specialised field.

When we are notified of your claim, you are contacted by a member of our FNOL team. The loss equates to any damages to your bike, or your belongings as a result of the accident. The FNOL team will liaise with you directly to determine your requirements, i.e. do you need a hire bike for work, or do you have personal injuries that may require a claim?

Once your claim has been set up, you will be allocated a claims handler from the mitigation team. They work on establishing liability and focus on getting your bike repairs authorised, or a total loss cheque issued if your bike is deemed a write off.

BLD has an obligation to not only keep all of our own costs to a minimum, but also keep the costs of all other parties involved to a minimum. This is called mitigation. Throughout the claims process we will continuously track progress and seek updates from you and all other participants including monitoring the hire, chasing the third party insurer, assisting you to get liability agreed and checking with solicitors for updates. We will also contact you to provide you with regular updates on the status of your claim. Each case file records full details of actions, timings, authorities, inspections, results and reports. Using our in-house custom-built claims management and repair tracking software we achieve rapid turn-around, helping us to be the UK's leading credit hire organisation.
